Event Details

Join us for "An Afternoon with Author Marcia Fine", an exploration of satire and historical fiction, for readers and inspiring authors alike.

She's a novelist, humorist, social observer, and historical researcher...

Award-winning author Marcia Fine likes to do what she does best--watch and interact with people. Her satirical series about Scottsdale has won major prizes in Women’s Fiction and Humor.

In the historical vein, PAPER CHILDREN, a story based on family history and personal letters, tells of a Polish immigrant who forges a life in post-Holocaust New York City and Miami. It has been a finalist for three national prizes.

THE BLIND EYE creates a narrative about a family expelled from Spain during the Inquisition and a contemporary Cuban-American woman searching for her identity. It won two First Prizes and was chosen as the ONE BOOK ARIZONA choice for the state to read.

PARIS LAMB won a First Prize as an Unpublished Novel. It has received acclaim for its historical accuracy, suspenseful plot and an examination of anti-Semitism in the 1950s.

HIDDEN ONES, about crossing borders and the Inquisition in Mexico, has garnered four first prizes, including the 2018 WILLA Award for Best Original Softcover Book by Women Writing the West. She is a gifted storyteller with a penchant for research!
