Program Description

Event Details

Enjoy a guided tour through the historical world and fantasy worldmaking of J.R.R. Tolkien, renowned Oxford professor and author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Retired professor, Elyse Pineau, weaves stories from the author’s life together with visual images of his creative work and process, as she explores Tolkien’s 60-year construction of Middle Earth, and the ongoing legacy of his creative genius.

Elyse draws on her years teaching Tolkien’s work and leading Study Abroad excursions to Oxford University, where she conducted research in the Tolkien Special Collections at the Bodleian Library.
