Program Description

Event Details

Please join us for a special Greek inspired phyllo cooking class with Sandy Athenson, owner of Athens on Easy Street in Carefree. While this paper-like pastry might seem scary at first, learn to handle it authentically so that any Greek grandmother would be proud. You will learn all about phyllo: its origin, how it's made, how to handle/use it, and how to create 3 recipes. These include savory Tiropitakia (baked cheese triangles), sweet Bougatsa (custard pie with phyllo), and Baked Phyllo Cups with Brie, Caramelized Onions, and Prosciutto.

For more information, call Desert Foothills Library at 480-488-2286.
