Local best-selling author Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard will share thoughts on writing historical fiction, including some of her research methods and reading from her award-winning series Historic Women of the Highlands. Book sale and signing to follow.

Elizabeth Hutchinson Bernard is an award-winning author of historical fiction. Her novel The Beauty Doctor is a suspenseful tale that takes place in the early days of cosmetic surgery - when the world of medicine was like the Wild West and beauty doctors were the newest breed of outlaw. Temptation Rag: A Novel immerses readers in the bawdy atmosphere of vaudeville and early twentieth-century Black musical theater in a story about the price of freedom, the longing for immortality, and the human need to find forgiveness.

Her 2023 release and Amazon Kindle #1 Bestseller and Editors' Choice of the Historical Novel Society, Sisters of Castle Leod, is set in Scotland at the turn of the twentieth century. The novel, inspired by real people and events, is an emotionally charged story of two very different sisters torn apart by jealousy and superstition, and the impossible leap of faith that could finally bring them together. The Seaforth Heiress: Lady of the Last Prophecy, is Book 2 of historic Women of the Highlands and an Amazon #1 Bestselling New Release in Biographical Historical Fiction.
