Local authors discuss their inspiration for the art of writing and share their latest titles at Desert Foothills Library. Each author brings their own style to this series from lecture to book readings that will surely pique the curiosity.

Join us for one or all eight – the choice is yours to engage with area authors in DFL’s AZ Author Series 2023. Books by each author may be available at the event for purchase or bring along your own copy for an autograph. 

Wednesday, February 15th- C.C. Harrison | Death by G-String, a Coyote Canyon Ladies Ukulele Mystery 

C. C. Harrison lives in Anthem, Arizona. She is the author of hundreds of articles and short stories. When she’s not writing, reading, or working out at the gym, she can be found in the mountains of Colorado or in some far-flung corner of the Southwest. 

She has won national recognition with her suspense novels: 

The Charmstone is set on the Navajo Indian Reservation where Harrison lived as a VISTA volunteer. This book was voted Golden Quill’s Best Romantic Suspense and Best First Book, and was a Colorado Award of Excellence finalist. Tony Hillerman called it “a valuable book.” 

Her award-winning mystery Running from Strangers was a National Readers Choice finalist. 

Sage Cane's House of Grace and Favor (written as Christy Hubbard) was honored at Aspen Institute’s Summer Words Literary Festival as a Colorado Book Award finalist. 

Picture of Lies is a Next Generation Indie Book Suspense Winner 

Death By G-String, a Coyote Canyon Ladies Ukulele Club Mystery is set in the Rocky Mountains and is a Colorado Humanities Book Award Mystery Winner.
