Wednesday, March 1st- Dave Bushy| The World Looked Away - Vietnam After the War
This is the true story of Quoc Pham, a South Vietnamese Navy Officer who was sent to Reeducation Camps after the fall of the country in 1975. He was held captive for three years, but with the help of his wife, Kim-Cuong, escaped to Saigon and eventually, in 1980, made his way to freedom. He captained a 37-foot boat with 55 people aboard, departing into a storm in the South China Sea. It is the story of love, family and the struggle of a people in the aftermath of war – all while the world looked away.
Dave is the author of The World Looked Away – Vietnam After the War, published in 2018. He served in the U.S. Army as an Armor and Counterintelligence officer. He was Airborne and Ranger qualified.
